We currently operate in India, Zambia and Australia through our various subsidiaries.

 

Australia
CMT is an integrated producer of copper which currently produces 30,000 tpa of copper concentrate. This is supplied entirely to Sterlite’s copper smelter operations in India.

 

Zambia
KCM is the largest mining and metals company in Zambia, with annual capacity of 200,000 tpa of copper. KCM is currently constructing a 300,000 tpa smelter at Nchanga

 

India
Sterlite is a leading producer of copper in India. It pioneered the manufacturing of continuous cast copper rods in India, and established India's largest copper smelting and refining plant for production of world class refined copper. It has a cathode capacity of 400,000 tpa and rod capacity of 240,000 tpa.

 

MALCO has a power plant with a generation capacity of 100 MW.

 

BALCO has a capacity of 245,000 tpa aluminium, 510  MW captive power plant. BALCO also has a 270 MW power plant which currently sells power in the commercial market.

 

VAL comprises Lanjigarh alumina refinery with an initial installed capacity of 1.0 million tpa and an associated 90 MW captive power plant. The first unit of refinery has already been commissioned and the second unit is tested and will soon be commissioned. It also includes the 500,000 tpa aluminum smelter, together with an associated thermal coal-based 1,215 MW captive power plant in Jharsuguda.

 

Vedanta acquired 51% stake in Sesa Goa. A well-established company with over fifty years of operations, Sesa is India's largest private sector iron ore producer-exporter. Sesa currently produces over 12 million tonnes of iron ore, of which over 90% is exported to leading global steel companies in China, Europe and Japan.
