Governance Structure
Overall the HSE function is overseen by the Board and a separate HSE committee headed by an independent director and comprising of Vedanta’s key senior management. In addition to this, we have Health Safety and Environment committees across operations having representation from both management and non-supervisory staff.
Our Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) processes are overseen by a Board appointed committee, which meets quarterly, chaired by Mr. Naresh Chandra, a Senior Independent Non Executive Director. The other members of the HSE Committee are:

- Mr. Ramesh Nair (COO, Copper India)
- Mr. Mahesh Patil (General Manger HSE, Sesa Goa)
- Mr. CSR Mehta (HSE Coordinator)
- Ms Ruby Thapar (CSR Coordinator)
We have a dedicated team of around 108 environmental professionals, 290 dedicated health and safety professionals, 62 full time CSR professionals and 450 volunteers placed at various levels and locations to ensure sustainable development.
