Vedanta is very serious about attracting the best-in-class candidates for their operations in India, Zambia and Armenia, within the Group companies Konkola Copper Mines Plc (Zambia), Ararat Gold Recovery Company (Armenia), Hindustan Zinc Ltd (India) and Bharat Aluminium Company Ltd (India).

Vedanta is keen to engage top notch specialists in the areas of mining, metallurgy and geology in the above mentioned Group companies. As a priority we would like to make appointments in the following positions:

• Head of Rock Mechanics – Zambia
• Rock Mechanics Expert – India
• Mine Construction – Zamia
• Underground / open pit mining experts – India
• Underground mining specialist – Zambia
• Back filled specialist – Zambia
• Geologists – India
• POX Specialist – Armenia
• Zinc Smelting (Hydrometallurgy) specialist – India
• Leaching Specialist – Zambia

All these companies are enhancing capacities significantly through brownfield expansions / modernisation and Greenfield projects. The expectation from these specialists is that they will work ‘hands-on’ within these organisations, bring in significant operational gains, introduce best practices, train and upskill the existing operational team, all with an objective of achieving global scale capacities in these companies. Though specialist advice will be an inherent responsibility, we are not looking to engage per se consultants or advisors, but acknowledged experts in their area of specialisation who can take on specific challenges in operations with clear accountabilities and targets. Previous expatriate experience in India, Africa or FSU / Russia will be desirable though not essential. We are open to engaging specialists with extensive experience, who have since retired from full-time employment.

The ideal candidates to accomplish these roles will be graduate engineers with experience in either gold or base metal mining & metallurgy – mining experience could take the form of open pit or underground processes.

The appointment terms offer an attractive expatriate compensation package, which includes furnished housing, annual home leave fare, with significant savings potential. The company is open to putting in flexible contractual terms, based on a fly-in fly-out arrangement. The basis of the appointment will be a fixed term contract, however Vedanta has significant growth plans going forward, which will offer ongoing opportunities to the interested candidate.
